A single collision in space can destroy a satellite instantly and generate thousands of pieces of debris.
These fragments can trigger a cascade of further collisions, eventually rendering entire orbital regions unusable.
If this were to happen, many of the essential services we rely on every day could be disrupted worldwide.
The potential economic loss is estimated to exceed 25 trillion yen—equivalent to 250 natural disasters.
