[Japan and Australia Space Startups Join Forces]Accelerating Space Safety: Strategic Partnership to Deliver Cutting-Edge Space Solutions

May 19, 2025, Tokyo — To further deepen Japan–Australia collaboration in the rapidly growing space sector, Star Signal Solutions Inc. (SSS), a Japan-based provider of Space Situational Awareness (SSA) services, and Inovor Technologies, an advanced satellite manufacturer from Australia, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for a strategic partnership at the Australian Embassy in Tokyo.

This partnership is expected to leverage the complementary strengths of both companies across the fields of Space Domain Awareness (SDA), SSA, and space traffic coordination.

The collaboration aims to deliver cutting-edge space solutions to government and commercial customers throughout the Indo-Pacific region.

The signing ceremony was attended by representatives from the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) and the Australian Embassy in Japan, underscoring strong expectations for enhanced cooperation in the commercial space sector between the two countries.

This MOU establishes a foundation for future joint technology development, mission collaboration, and long-term commercial engagement, marking a new phase in Japan–Australia space business cooperation.

The partnership also highlights the critical strategic role of industry as both countries accelerate investments in resilient and sovereign space capabilities. Furthermore, it reflects Inovor Technologies’ commitment to being “locally embedded and globally impactful.”

As a JAXA-origin startup, Star Signal Solutions has been addressing the growing risks associated with the stable use of outer space through advanced Japanese technologies, with the mission of “safeguarding life on Earth and ensuring space safety.” Through this partnership, the company aims to further contribute to the enhancement of space safety.
